Drink water

One of the easiest and most simple things you can do to improve your mental clarity is to drink enough water. Water contains some of the most important nutrients for our bodies. It keeps us hydrated. Yet many people tend to forget to drink water throughout the day and are as a result of that dehydrated most of the time. Dehydration can be very bad for both your physical and mental health. It can cause depression, anxiety, headaches, joint pain, and so many more problems. Many of these health issues can be subsided in a matter of a few weeks if you start to drink half your body weight (in ounces) every day in clean and filtered water.

Also, another great tip that can help clear your mind and reduce stress is to drink two 16 ounces of water as soon as you wake up in the morning. Drinking water in the morning will help your body flush out the toxins that get released while you sleep. This is a great way to improve mental clarity and your body’s system will have a much-needed jump start at the beginning of a productive day.

Digest your food

Another simple, yet effective tip is to be mindful of how you eat your breakfast. It might not seem like a big deal, but grabbing an “energy” bar on the way to work and cramming it into your mouth as you drive in the traffic might not be the best way to have breakfast. As a matter of fact, this can be very bad for your emotional stability, mental clarity, and stress level. You don’t give your body the time it needs to digest the food and that can cause inflammation, foggy head, and many other mental health issues. 

You need to be in a relaxed state when you’re eating in order for our body to digest the food. You need to sit down, take a deep breath and make sure to slow down when you’re eating and chewing your food. Be mindful of what you are eating because it does affect your health. Lastly, remain seated for a few minutes after you’re done eating. 

Avoid sugar, add fats

Sugar can be very bad for your health since it causes inflammation and hormone imbalance. And that can lead to feelings of depression, anxiety, and irritability. This tip should be taken very seriously, especially if you already struggle with mental health issues or stress management issues. On another hand, adding fats to your diet can do wonders for both your physical and mental health. It will help your brain function more properly. The brain cells and nerve coatings are made from essential fats, after all. 

Some of the good fats you should consider introducing into your diet are Organic flax, cod liver, coconut, and olive oils, avocados, free-range eggs, animal fats, and wild-caught, oily fish such as salmon. These fats will also boost your immune system by aiding your body to use fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E.

Exercise

Regular exercise can have so many benefits for your mental health. It is an important and pivotal factor in dealing with stress and anxiety. And even if you can’t go outside or simply don’t like going to the gym, you can always do easy workout routines at home. Invest in some high-quality barbells or simply do yoga by following your favorite YouTube instructors. There are so many simple exercises that anyone can do at home. And they will only take around 15 to 20 minutes of your day. After some time, you’ll feel your stress and anxiety levels immensely decreasing. 

Take an activated B vitamin

Lastly, taking vitamin B12 can be very beneficial for your health, especially if you are deficient and have difficulties with fatigue, memory, mental fogginess, and depressive mood. It will help improve your mental clarity and restore your overall energy. However, do a blood test in advance to see if you actually are deficient, because if you’re not, vitamin B12 might not be as helpful.
