Poem: About Meditation

Meditation is not about

Disrupting the assembly.

In fact, meditation helps

To heal our wounds.

Meditation allows you

To escape momentarily

From the stressors of life.

In this sense, meditation

Is deliverance:

Meditation is the sweet

And gentle caress of

A mother for her baby.

Meditation is the freedom

You find in the 

Middle of a storm.

Meditation allows you

To float on a cloud.

Through meditation,

One finds inner peace,

Which stays the same

Throughout day and night

And travels smoothly

During life’s transitions.

Meditation is a feeling

And a conscious awareness

Of this passing moment.

Meditation is an

Untold drama which unfolds

Like a warm, security blanket.

Meditation allows you

To experience the

Here and now.

Meditation is the taste

Of eternity on your tongue.

 Meditation quenches

Your parched throat and

Satisfies your thirst

For that which is unfathomable.

Meditation is free

Of cost and transcends

Any dollar signs or labels.

The daily practice

Of meditation makes

You feel whole again.

This is because meditation

Is the ground state

Of your being.

Feeling centered, meditation

Then encourages you to

Become whoever you

Want to be

In this big, bad world

Of cut-throat competition

And the rat race.

Finally, meditation

Transports you to a

Higher plane of existence

Where there are possibilities

Instead of rules and prescriptions.
