1. How can we overcome our childhood fears and limitations and learn to live a better life?

Awareness is the key to knowing our reactions in any given situation. Recognizing the pattern of behavior that began in childhood imposed on us by the opinions and belief systems of our caregivers and society, helps us to determine what works for us now as an adult. Discovering our heartfelt needs and being true to our own development will allow us to make necessary observations and change any perception that can be improved. Any action that creates discomfort for our self or others indicates a change in our behavior is in order. Paying attention to the signals that our body gives us lets us know when a situation feels right or wrong. Any dysfunction indicates a red flag- your cue to immediately evaluate what you might say or do that can be different than what has be done in the past giving a better result. Noticing an improvement in how you feel or react to similar situations, means you are eliminating childhood patterns of dysfunction. This leads to a happier and healthier state of functioning. Finding a professional guide-spiritual teacher, psychologist or dear friend to talk about and review any past childhood issues would
be helpful in letting go of any unproductive residual behaviors.

2. What does it mean to take responsibility for our own happiness and how can we achieve this?

Taking responsibility for your own happiness means every person must be responsible to do their own work about acknowledging what needs to change within their attitudes or actions so that they may better relate to the outer world. Finding true happiness and joy is the natural outcome of self investigation. There are no short cuts. No one can make you happy or unhappy unless you give him or her the power to do that by surrendering or giving your own power away. We should aim to become a person who doesn’t find fault in others, moving past personal obstacles
with courage, hope and faith to find total wellbeing. Be free of any influence of others that take that state of mind- peace away from you.

3. How can we use positive thoughts to bring about positive energy and results in our lives?

It is not merely by positive thoughts alone that we improve our health, prosperity, and relationships. It is by our actions and responses to our challenges and consistently meeting those challenges honorably and courageously that creates progress- individually and collectively. I would suggest to not gravitate towards bad news, fear, anxiety, but rather with humor and goodwill. Let others know you understand their viewpoint and request the same respect for your own thoughts. Avoid procrastination and boldly go forward to do what engages you and helps in your own
self development.

4. How can one recognize his or her life path and learn to trust?

If you trust in a universal life force and your inner being, you will come to know that your physical or ego based life and spiritual essence are both part of our experience in life and beyond. Being open-minded and accepting of every person, new experience, work challenge or health issue that comes your way, will allow you to know your life plan includes everything that happens to you as nothing is random and every experience is actually your life plan flowing in union with the greater divine plan of the universe. Choose whatever interests you and create your own life path.
If you are functioning in alignment with the higher values of spirit, you will have tremendous joy in everything you do.

5. How can we protect ourselves from negative emotions of damaged and toxic people?

Damaged and toxic people operate on a low vibrational frequency, will try to keep you stagnate and rooted in old beliefs and drain you of your positive energy and joy as they are functioning at different levels than you in their spiritual development. The most effective strategy to deal with unhappy or dysfunctional people is to avoid one-on-one interaction with those who exhibit negative behavior. Do not engage, fight, yell, or otherwise allow yourself to be pulled into their drama or situation. Remain neutral, calm and focused on maintaining your state of peace and wellbeing. When a person’s words begin to overwhelm you, suggest that you talk about something else. It is important to be kind and honest, but never accusatory, as this will only engage them further. After an unpleasant encounter, try to make it a priority to spend time with nurturing positive people who can help you return to a state of balance. Remember that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience; everyone is trying-on various levels-to find their own way. All you can do is stay in a positive state of allowing and accepting love. The goal is acceptance, of
everything and everyone, without judgment or any negative feeling. By adopting these practices you will help any troubled individual to feel the possibilities of positive change in their own life.

6. How has the practice of energy healing grown to be more widely accepted in Western culture during recent years?

Understanding an essential truth about life, love and what it means to be human acknowledges the fact that the human body is hardwired to heal itself -a fact that, until recently, was largely ignored by Western medicine. Energy healing is now recognized by The National Institutes of Health which lists it as a branch of complementary and alternative medicine which is being given an unprecedented new acceptance in Western culture. Even some of the most traditional doctors and nurses now acknowledge that alternative health practices are a vital piece of the holistic
puzzle. An article in The New York Times spoke about a doctor with an internal medical practice who was recommending Reiki for depression and other health issues. This doctor, as well as other doctors, are becoming aware that alternative healing modalities offered a more moderate approach for treating many conditions and could often yield satisfying results sometimes avoiding the need to order medications for
their patients. Dentists and doctors alike were also using Reiki sessions prior to surgery to help patients relax and deal with pre-surgery jitters. Reiki could also enable the healing process to take less time and lighten the painful effects of surgery.

7. You work with people suffering from illness, grief over the death of a loved one.How do you help coach them to find happiness again?

I seek to share the knowledge that happiness is a state of wisdom-knowing yourself in life and knowing that as eternal soul energies we continue beyond this physical life. The western culture does not have the same understanding of death that is known by many Eastern cultures and religions worldwide. It still sees death as a punishment or loss, when in reality it is just a transition to a higher state of being and a continuous unending source of life and experience. As a medium and intuitive healer, I help people experience and feel their own internal energy or
life force during a Reiki session and by giving them messages providing information that is only meaningful to them. This experience reinforces the awareness of their true soul nature and their eternal life force. I also encourage them to know that every experience leads us to a greater opportunity for wisdom, healing and love.

8. How does distance healing work? Can you talk about some of your experiences?

Distance healing is when people seek to help patients simply with the power of the mind and a connection to higher energy. Distance healing can include anything from Reiki, therapeutic touch- in which practitioners, without touching their patients, try to alter their energy fields – sometimes using visualizations for relaxing the body and removing blockages and obstructions that are creating any health issue. The intention of the practitioner is for a higher state of health, prosperity, love and balance for the person they are focusing on. An example of a distant healing story
is as follows; One day I had just completed an episode for “Healing from Within”. Hector, who is Hang’s partner, my computer manager, told me after recording the show, that Hang had just had laser eye surgery. I immediately suggested I would send Hang distant healing. A few days later, I received a call from Hang saying he didn’t believe in this distant healing, but after Hector told him I had sent him healing energy when in mediation to ensure a speedy and safe recovery, Hang realized that the doctor had told him he would have tearing and itching for at least four hours after the surgery, but he didn’t have any such reaction. His wife however, who had the same surgery, struggled for days with excessive tearing. Hang at the time was unaware why he was doing better than his wife had, until Hector told him I was sending him healing intentions. A few days later, back in the doctor’s office, the doctor asked Hang if he had done anything different than his wife, because his eyes
were in such great condition. A light went off in Hang’s head when he realized that the Reiki healing energy was only sent him, has Hector did not mention his wife had the same surgery. Now, Hang was not only a believer, but went one step further asking me for further assistance in completely healing his ankle, as he was still unable to play basketball after surgery, almost a year after the injury. The proof
is in the pudding!
