Ram Dass interview with Thicht Nhat Hanh on anger

Anger has been a dominant sentiment and energy in the media lately.  Talking heads, TV personalities and much of society (including myself at times) feel anger for the reasons why the economy has experienced its current downturn.  In the video clip below, Ram Dass interviews Thicht Nhat Hanh about how to respond to our anger.

One technique for dealing with anger that they offer is to be mindful of it and take good care of it.  This unique juxtaposition of taking good care of our anger can be a lot healthier than denying it or blindfully reacting to it.  When we simply become aware, mindful or present that there is a part of us that is angry, without taking a position or making a judgment towards ourself and our own anger, then the energy of that anger eventually dissolves and can transform into a state of clarity, peace or presence.  This state of mind enables us to make much more effective decisions.

The 10 minute interview below goes into greater detail and also addresses the question about whether anger can be useful if it prompts one to take action in support of justice.
