Dec. 21, 2012 has now captured the attention of mainstream Hollywood.  2012, the movie, features John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson and Danny Glover.  It is set to be released July 10, 2009.  The movie is about how the world’s governments will prepare for the end of the world.  Not much additional information is given in the teaser and the actors are not even shown.

Dec. 21, 2012 has generated a lot of controversy and hype.  Some people believe it is the date of the apocalypse.  Others believe it is a time of great spiritual transformation.  Many believe that nothing extraordinary will take place on this date. 

There is some evidence that this date is significant.  The Mayan calendar references it.  Many astrologers believe that on this date there will be an extremely close conjunction of the Northern Hemisphere winter solstace sun with the crossing point of the Galitc equator and ecliptic, whatever that means.  Appararently, this event will not be repeated for thousands of years. 

What actually happens on this date is not as signficant as how it relates to what is going on in our collective consciousness.  This date is generating a lot of attention because many believe our world needs to dramatically shift right now.  We see events on the news and can feel in our collective consciousness that humanity must move from a state of violence to peace.  The movie 2012 is likely tapping into this collective awareness.  You can watch the trailer below.
