Dan Millman talks about the real Socrates from The Peaceful Warrior

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

In The Peaceful Warrior movie, Nick Nolte plays Socrates, one of the main characters who represents the ultimate mentor.  The movie is based on a true story, but many of the scenes cause the viewer to wonder if what they were watching actually took place.  In the link to the video below, Dan Millman discusses his interaction with the real Socrates.  Millman says that Socrates really does exists.  He met him at a Texaco gas station at 3:00 in the morning when he was in college.  If that isn’t a twist of fate, then I don’t know what is.  Millman never to my knowledge has revealed Socrates true identity.  Although probably more important than Socrates’ true identity, is the archetype of teacher that he embodies.  Every person needs a mentor.  Some people find a guru in their Higher Self and others seek out actual teachers at various stages throughout their life.  The video clip below is an enlightening analysis of Dan Millman’s interaction with his mentor, Socrates.

James Ray interviews Hulk Hogan

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Below is a link to a 50 minute video of an interview between Hulk Hogan and James Ray.  The interview is very interesting because James Ray asks Hulk questions that go far beyond the image that Hulk has portrayed in the wrestling ring and on his reality tv show.  Hulk reveals how he built his career by following his gut. And although he was not completely aware of the law of attraction at the time, Hulk acknowledges how he utilized that to become successful.

The interview is not all about Hulk’s success as a wrestler.  In some parts Hulk talks about how he was an overweight and unpopular kid.  This all changed he says at the age of 14 when he incorporated John 3:16 into his life.  That motivated him to be the best that he could be in every aspect of his life.  But, he still had to overcome much adversity before he even started his career as a wrestler.  The interview goes in depth to the man behind Hulk Hogan as he shares some eye-opening stories about what he went through before he achieved success.
